Note: I needed to split this patch in two, otherwise it's too big for the mailing list. This patch adds explicit casts to situations where a void pointer is assigned to a pointer to the "real" type. Building in C++ mode requires those assignments to use an explicit cast. This includes, for example: - callback arguments (cleanups, comparison functions, ...) - data attached to some object (objfile, program space, etc) in the form of a void pointer - "user data" passed to some function This patch comes from the commit "(mostly) auto-generated patch to insert casts needed for C++", taken from Pedro's C++ branch. Only files built on x86 with --enable-targets=all are modified, so the native files for other arches will need to be dealt with separately. I built-tested this with --enable-targets=all and reg-tested. To my surprise, a test case (selftest.exp) had to be adjusted. Here's the ChangeLog entry.
