38b022b445 Add method/format information to =record-started
Eclipse CDT now supports enabling execution recording using two methods
(full and btrace) and both formats for btrace (bts and pt). In the
event that recording is enabled behind the back of the GUI (by the user
on the command line, or a script), we need to know which method/format
are being used, so it can be correctly reflected in the interface. This
patch adds this information to the =record-started async record.

Before:

  =record-started,thread-group="i1"

After:

  =record-started,thread-group="i1",method="btrace",format="bts"
  =record-started,thread-group="i1",method="btrace",format="pt"
  =record-started,thread-group="i1",method="full"

The "format" field is only present when the current method supports
multiple formats (only the btrace method as of now).

gdb/ChangeLog:

	* NEWS: Mention the new fields in =record-started.
	* common/btrace-common.h (btrace_format_short_string): New function

0c532a2980 btrace: add instruction-history /s and fix documentation
Add support for the /s modifier of the "record instruction-history" command. It
behaves exactly like /m and prints disassembled instructions in the order in
which they were recorded with interleaved sources. We accept /s in addition
to /m to align with the "disassemble" command.

The "record instruction-history" modifiers were not documented. Document
all of them.

gdb/
	* record.c (get_insn_history_modifiers): Set DISASSEMBLY_SOURCE
instead of DISASSEMBLY_SOURCE_DEPRECATED. Also accept /s.
	(_initialize_record): Document the /s modifier.
	* NEWS: Announce record instruction-history's new /s modifier.

a52eab4808 target, record: add PTID argument to to_record_is_replaying
The to_record_is_replaying target method is used to query record targets if
they are replaying. This is currently interpreted as "is any thread being
replayed".

Add a PTID argument and change the interpretation to "is any thread matching
PTID being replayed".

Change all users to pass minus_one_ptid to preserve the old meaning.

The record full target does not really support multi-threading and ignores
the PTID argument.

	* record-btrace.c (record_btrace_is_replaying): Add ptid argument.
	Update users to pass minus_one_ptid.
	* record-full.c (record_full_is_replaying): Add ptid argument (ignored).

6ff0ba5f7b New /s modifier for the disassemble command.
The "source centric" /m option to the disassemble command is often
unhelpful, e.g., in the presence of optimized code.
This patch adds a /s modifier that is better.
For one, /m only prints instructions from the originating source file,
leaving out instructions from e.g., inlined functions from other files.

9e8915c6ce record-full/record-btrace: software/hardware breakpoint trap
This adjusts the record targets to tell the core whether a trap was
caused by a breakpoint. Targets that can do this should report
breakpoint traps with the PC already adjusted, so this removes the
re-incrementing record-full was doing.

These targets need to be adjusted before process_stratum targets
beneath are, otherwise target_supports_stopped_by_sw_breakpoint,
etc. would fall through to the target beneath while
recording/replaying, and the core would get confused.

Tested on x86-64 Fedora 20, native and gdbserver.

8710b7097e record-btrace: optionally indent function call history
Add a new modifier /c to the "record function-call-history" command to
indent the function name based on its depth in the call stack.

Also reorder the optional fields to have the indentation at the very beginning.
Prefix the insn range (/i modifier) with "inst ".
Prefix the source line (/l modifier) with "at ".
Change the range syntax from "begin-end" to "begin, end" to allow copy&paste to
the "record instruction-history" and "list" commands.

8213266aea Fix "is a record target open" checks.
RECORD_IS_USED and record_full_open look at current_target.to_stratum
to determine whether a record target is in use. This is wrong because
arch_stratum is greater than record_stratum, so if an arch_stratum
target is pushed, RECORD_IS_USED and record_full_open will miss it.

To fix this, we can use the existing find_record_target instead, which
looks up for a record stratum target across the target stack. Since
that means exporting find_record_target in record.h, RECORD_IS_USED
ends up redundant, so the patch eliminates it.

That exercise then reveals other issues:

- adjust_pc_after_break is gating record_full_... calls based on
RECORD_IS_USED. But, record_full_ calls shouldn't be made when
recording with the record-btrace target. So this adds a new
record_full_is_used predicate to be used in that spot.

- record_full_open says "Process record target already running", even
if the recording target is record-btrace ("process record" is the
original complete name of the record-full target). record_btrace_open
only says "The process is already being recorded." and does not
suggest "record stop", like record-full does. The patch factors out
and merges that error to a new record_preopen function that all record
targets call in their open routine.

Tested on x86_64 Fedora 17.

52554a0e32 constify to_detach
This patch constifies the target_ops method to_detach.

This is a small cleanup, but also, I think, a bug-prevention fix,
since gdb already acts as if the "args" argument here was const.

In particular, top.c:quit_force calls kill_or_detach via
iterate_over_inferiors. kill_or_detach calls target_detach, passing
the same argument each time. So, if one of these methods was not
const-correct, then kill_or_detach would change its behavior in a
strange way.

I could not build every target I modified in this patch. I've
inspected them all by hand, though. Many targets do not use the
"args" parameter; a couple pass it to atoi; and a few pass it on to
the to_detach method of the target beneath. The only code that
required a real change was in linux-nat.c, and that only needed the
introduction of a temporary variable for const-correctness.

However, the user can't herself specify "unlimited" directly:

 (gdb) set height unlimited
No symbol table is loaded. Use the "file" command.
 (gdb)

This patch addresses that, by adjusting the set handler for all
integer/uinteger/zuinteger_unlimited commands to accept literal
"unlimited". It also installs a completer. Presently, we complete on
symbols by default, and at
<http://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2013-03/msg00864.html> I've
shown a WIP prototype that tried to keep that half working in these
commands. In the end, it turned out to be more complicated than
justifiable, IMO. It's super rare to want to pass the value of a
variable/symbol in the program to a GDB set/show knob. That'll still
work, it's just that we won't assist with completion anymore. This
patch just sticks with the simple, and completes on "unlimited", and
nothing else. This simplification means that

  "set he<tab><tab>"

is all it takes to get to:

  "set height unlimited"

The patch then goes through all integer/uinteger/zuinteger_unlimited
commands in the tree, and updates both the online help and the manual
to mention that "unlimited" is accepted in addition to 0/-1. In the
cases where the command had no online help text at all, this adds it.
I've tried to make the texts read in a way that "unlimited" is
suggested before "0" or "-1" is.

Tested on x86_64 Fedora 17.
